Keith Emerson

Dr. Keith Emerson
Minister

The Very Rev. Dr. Keith Emerson Keith grew up in Akron, OH. Raised in the Presbyterian Church where he was active in Sunday School and youth programs, he graduated from Grove City College (PA) in 1982 with a B.A. in Religion and in Economics. Shortly thereafter he started attending St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron and was invited to serve on the staff. Embracing a call, Keith graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1987 and was ordained to the priesthood on May 13, 1988. He served as an Assistant to the Rector in two Ohio parishes prior to becoming Rector of St. John’s Church in Keokuk, IA 1993. From there served as Rector of the Church of the Epiphany in Richmond, VA from 1997-2007. He became Rector of St. Paul’s on October 1, 2007.

Keith has two daughters, Ellen and Abbey, who live in Richmond. He has a wide variety of interests and most recently has enjoyed historical research, first learning about St. Paul’s history in preparation for our 375th Anniversary, and more recently his own family history.
